JOEYZ: 5 – 7 Years

The Joeyz Development programme is based on enhancing and perfecting the FUNdamentals of rugby to aid the progressive and seamless transition from RuggerRooz to Rugby Clubs.

 

The Joeyz Programme will assist each child to develop the understanding of the when, where and how in a variety of creative and challenging activities. In addition, each child will develop their understanding of team play underpinned by the values of effort, playing fair and learning from their experience. In addition to rugby specific skills children will develop other transferable life skills including confidence, coordination and concentration.

 

Team work is reinforced with all children given the opportunity to work with each other in a variety of challenges and activities. Tag rugby , a NON contact game in which players wear Velcro tags will be introduced along with basic laws of the game.

 

Please note new members to RuggerRooz and the Joeyz Development programme with limited or no rugby experience will gain the required skills through expert coaching to ensure each child has the confidence to participate and enjoy the RuggerRooz rugby experience.

 

When children are eligible they will be encouraged to join a rugby club to continue their rugby playing career. RuggerRooz are affiliated with many local rugby clubs and continue to support mini rugby and the growth of rugby participation.
